_______________________
Join us for What Lies Beneath, a thriller from the legendary director, Robert Zemeckis. In this old school ghost story, Claire Spencer (played by Michelle Pfeiffer) is convinced that her lakeside Vermont home may be haunted. Claire's husband (played by the legendary Harrison Ford) is left to decide if the place actually has an uninvited guest or if his loving wife is simply losing her mind. Zemeckis (the man responsible for the likes of Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit?) shot this effective Hitchcockian thriller in between Cast Away filming sessions while Tom Hanks was off losing weight, making this movie all the more intriguing. What Lies Beneath is the perfect movie to kick off HorrorFest 2026 preview night as this year's festival theme is "hauntings."
Special guest speaker: Josh and Jalee Scott, the dynamic team behind the long running Southern Utah-based theater group, The Stage Door. Additionally, Josh and Jalee are educators in the Washington County District but beyond that, they both have a grand love for film. And as fate would have it, they're big fans of What Lies Beneath and the evening's bonus film, Poltergeist, making them the perfect fit for this haunting night at the movies.
Be sure to arrive early and order an optional menu item from Riggatti’s to enjoy during the post-screening discussion or, you can take it home with you after the movie.
The Electric Film Series is free to the community, though donations are greatly appreciated. All contributions support the 2026 season and beyond. When reserving tickets, you’ll see a “Name Your Own Price” option. Feel free to select $0, or donate if you’re able.
