NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, PRESENTED IN 16MM FILM AT THE ELECTRIC THEATER!

16mm SL, UT and The Film and Media Alliance of Southern Utah proudly present a special 16mm screening of George A. Romero's black-and-white zombie classic, Night of the Living Dead! Hosted by film print collector and 16MM SL,UT founder, Matt Moon, this screening promises to be the perfect lead-in to Halloween! This film is legendary and, further still, it's cited as the movie that truly brought us the "zombie" as we know it. But more than just a terrifying slice of survival horror, Romero also injects a huge dose of social commentary into an unforgettable 1960s motion picture experience that would spawn wholly original sequels (including the masterwork, Dawn of the Dead, and its underappreciated follow-up, Day of the Dead) as well as pave the way for the countless tales of the undead that would follow.

This must-attend Pay-What-You-Want screening will take place at 9 PM on Saturday, October 17th immediately following the Halloween Edition of the Guerilla Shorts Showcase at the Electric Theater.

There’s something truly special about watching a 16MM film projected on the big screen. The warmth, texture, flicker, grain, and subtle imperfections of a real film print create an experience that simply can’t be replicated digitally. It’s a chance to step back in time and enjoy cinema in its most tangible form, watching light pass through film and fill the theater screen, just as audiences experienced it decades ago.
