The Electric Film Series continues at the Electric Theater on Tuesday, March 15th, at 6 PM (Doors at 5:30 PM) with a screening of a 30s comical masterpiece starring the legendary Marx Brothers;
“Duck Soup” (1933)
Groucho, Harpo, Chico, and Zeppo take aim at spies, government, and a financial crisis in this satirical comedy classic, a movie that many Marx Brothers fans consider to be their best. In fact, AFI ranked this masterwork as the fifth funniest movie of all time! Come on out and laugh with us and you’ll see, first hand, why “Duck Soup” is so beloved.
FMASU’s screening of “Duck Soup” will include an intro and a post-screening discussion led by JakCine Entertainment co-founder and film historian, Jason Jackson. What’s more, to cap off a laugh-out-loud night at the movies, So U Comedy Theater will be on hand to follow up the film with a live set of improv comedy. They say laughter is the best medicine therefore it’s perfectly clear that this evening will offer a cure for whatever ails you.
Be sure to arrive at the screening a little early and leave an optional donation. This donation will get you a delicious menu item from Riggatti's to enjoy during the post-screening discussion or, you can feel free to take it home with you following the movie.
