2024 Christmas Edition of the Guerilla Shorts Showcase (+ A visit from Santa)

THE 2024 CHRISTMAS EDITION OF THE GUERILLA SHORTS SHOWCASE

On Saturday, December 14th, 2024, The Utah Film Commission and the Film and Media Alliance of Southern Utah cordially invite you to experience the gift of filmmaking by way of two FREE screening events and an epic Utah Filmmaker Networking Social at The Electric Theater in St. George. It’s all in honor of the 100 Year Celebration of Utah Film and Television. 

12 PM– FMASU’s “Christmas Edition of the Guerilla Shorts Showcase” (For All ages)

Utah-based filmmakers of all ages and all skill sets were given a limited amount of time to put together short films (6 minutes or less) using any resources available to them. In addition to utilizing the theme ‘Tis the Season, filmmaking teams were also required to use a specific holiday-centric prop in their projects. At this very special Christmas Guerilla Showcase event, patrons will have an opportunity to experience these creative yuletide-inspired films (13 teams signed up for the challenge) in a theatrical environment surrounded by the gifted storytellers who put them together. A jury prize and an Audience Choice award will be presented to the best films of the bunch. Santa will also be on hand for photo ops.

*Special Sidenote; After the 2024 Christmas Edition of the Guerilla Shorts Showcase, please join us for the "Focus on the fUTure Film Festival" presented by The Utah Film Commission. These remarkable short films were put together by film program grads and undergrads at SUU and UTU.
