The Electric Film Series continues at the Electric Theater on Tuesday, June 21st, at 6 PM (Doors at 5:30 PM) with a journey back, literally, to the 60’s by way of a screening of a beloved sci-fi adventure created by the great H.G. Wells;
“The Time Machine” (1960)
---------------------------------------
Directed by George Pal, “The Time Machine” finds a man in the early 1900s experimenting with time travel. Upon zipping forward to many years in the future, he’s startled to discover that, perhaps, mankind hasn’t progressed in the way he thought it might. “The Time Machine” is punctuated by creative special effects and further still, it’s surprisingly provocative, particularly for a slice of populist entertainment. Sit back and enjoy a film that would go on to inspire a plethora of time travel classics including “Time After Time” and “Back to the Future.”
FMASU’s screening of “The Time Machine” will include an intro and post-screening discussion led by professional concept artist, photographer, and Atomic Apertures CEO, John Eaves. As it happens, Eaves has worked on a fair share of science fiction projects through the years and he’s also quite “The Time Machine” fan making him the perfect special guest for this must-attend event!
Be sure to arrive at the screening a little early and leave an optional donation. This donation will get you a delicious menu item from Riggatti's to enjoy during the post-screening discussion or, you can feel free to take it home with you following the movie. Additionally, there will be photo ops and a handful of surprises at what is sure to be an unforgettable evening at the movies. On a final note, don’t forget to spread the word by sharing this event page!
