About the Event
The Electric Film Series returns to the Electric Theater on Tuesday, September 17th with a special 25th anniversary screening of a haunting drama with an unforgettable twist; “The Sixth Sense” (1999)
—--------------------------------- Writer/director M. Night Shayamalan took the world by storm with this powerful tale of a psychiatrist who develops an unshakable bond with a young boy consumed by a dark secret. An understated Bruce Willis shows genuine dramatic range while young Haley Joel Osment brings emotional weight in a performance that earned him a much-deserved Oscar-nomination. “The Sixth Sense” is known for a more-than-memorable ending and as strong as that ending is, it’s the Willis/Osment dynamic that truly makes this modern ghost story an experience you’re not likely to forget. Per usual, we at The Electric Film Series aren’t just about the movies themselves. We’re also all about film history and context and as such, with each of these screenings we have a very special guest on hand to introduce the title of the evening and to lead a post-screening discussion. Our special guest for this particular screening is beloved UTU film professor, Nate Snow. Mr. Snow’s vast film knowledge goes without saying but the fact that he's a self-proclaimed “Sixth Sense” fanatic only solidifies him as the perfect guest for this movie. Be sure to arrive at our “The Sixth Sense” screening a little early and order an optional menu item from Riggatti’s to enjoy during the post-screening discussion or, you can feel free to take the pizza home with you following the movie.
We hope to see you all there! Be sure to bring your family and friends. On a final note, per usual, these screenings are free but donations are encouraged.
