Our 2026 season continues with a special screening celebrating classic Hollywood storytelling and the rise of the American gangster film, featuring the iconic crime drama The Roaring Twenties. This evening shifts the focus from silent cinema to the sound-era films that captured the grit, ambition, and moral fallout of Prohibition-era America.

Step into a world of bootleggers, backroom deals, and hard-earned consequences with "The Roaring Twenties," a defining gangster film that helped shape crime cinema as we know it today. Starring James Cagney in one of his most powerful performances, the film follows a World War I veteran’s rise and fall in the shadowy underworld of Prohibition. Equal parts crime saga and social commentary, "The Roaring Twenties" reflects the turbulence of its time while influencing generations of filmmakers with its sharp dialogue, dynamic performances, and uncompromising look at ambition and morality.

Adding depth to the evening will be a special guest appearance by Beau Stucki, a storyteller, actor, film enthusiast, and passionate supporter of the arts. Beau will introduce the film and lead a post-screening discussion, offering further insight into the film.

Be sure to arrive early and enjoy an optional menu item from Riggatti’s to savor during the post-screening discussion, or take it home with you after the film.
