Q&A with Filmmakers

A little Utah is an experimental short film using tilt-shift timelapse photography to take viewers on a journey through some of Utah's most iconic and scenic locations and travel destinations. Learn More HERE

"HEPTAPUS" (12 min)

Directed By Cooper Troxell

This is the story of Yokozuna, a Japanese-American immigrant with no connection to his past, surrounded by the trappings of American culture on all sides -- British period dramas, weightlifting, inhuman medical care -- and finds no niche for himself to feel at ease. When his beloved dog is attacked on the beach by an errant octopus, he searches for some way to exorcise his grief and rage. In the refuge of his basement, he finds a way to break open his protective armor. This film is a memory of a childhood at the beach, the summer Princess Diana died, as seen through a kaleidoscope -- and the underlying tensions it brought out in my family’s cultural backgrounds. "LOCKJAW" (10 min)

Directed By Alexandre Lefebvre

Searching through junk and metal, a young scrap dealer tries to track down how rust clogged up his relation with his dad. Learn More HERE

"THE TEMPLE" (18 min)

Directed By Alain Fournier

The crew of a German u-boat on a mission in the North Atlantic witness strange phenomena on board. After an inexplicable explosion in the engine room, the submarine slowly sinks to the abyssal depths, while madness decimates the submariners. Learn More HERE

"HELP ME UNDERSTAND" (15 min)

Directed By Aemilia Scott

"WHEN THE SWALLOWS FLY AWAY" (19 min)

"NINETY-FIVE SENSES" (14 min)

Directed By Jerusha Hess, Jared Hess

An ode to the body’s five senses, delivered by a death-row inmate with little time left to enjoy them.
