FMASU’s Electric Film Series returns to The Electric Theater on May 20th with a FREE screening of a legendary sci-fi adventure from the 1960s that you won’t forget. At the very least, it’s a film punctuated by an epic twist ending that had audiences absolutely gobsmacked;

The great Charlton Heston stars as an astronaut who awakens from extended hyper-sleep to find himself marooned on a planet ruled by apes. And on this particular planet (Lake Powell is a stand in for stretches of the film), make no mistakes; Humans are certainly the minority. This is a sci-fi epic filled with social commentary and grand adventure in equal measure. And leave it to co-writer Rod Serling (the mastermind behind “The Twilight Zone”) to pull the rug out from under moviegoers by way of that aforementioned ending.
