MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS (1944) Screening - 2023 Electric Film Series

The Electric Film Series returns to the Electric Theater on Tuesday, April 18th at 6 PM (Doors at 5:30 PM) with a screening of a legendary holiday-inspired musical from the 1940’s;

“Meet Me in St. Louis” (1944)

This box office smash from the mid-40s features the great Judy Garland in a movie that, in addition to being a wonderful slice of 1900s Americana, a colorful musical, and a warm and inviting holiday film, also has the distinction of being the movie that gave us the golden yuletide standard, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”  Come and experience a film that The Hollywood Reporter calls; “A completely delightful, homey, warmly human entertainment which has captured a nostalgic charm rarely if ever equaled on the screen.”  Per usual, we at The Electric Film Series aren’t just about the movies themselves. We’re also about film history and context and as such, with each of these screenings, we have a very special guest on hand to introduce the title of the evening and to lead a post-screening discussion. Our special guest for “Meet Me in St. Louis” is TBA. 

Be sure to arrive at the screening a little early and order an optional delicious menu item from Riggatti’s to enjoy during the post-screening discussion or, you can feel free to take it home with you following the movie.
