About the Event

The Electric Film Series returns to the Electric Theater on Tuesday, June 18th at 6 PM (Doors at 5:30 PM) with a 60th-Anniversary screening of an iconic classic from one of the most celebrated filmmakers of all time;  “Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb” (1964)

--------------------------------------------

Directed by the legendary Stanley Kubrick, this razor sharp Cold War-inspired satire stars Peter Sellers, (who actually plays three roles in the film, including the title character), George C. Scott, and Sterling Hayden in a movie about an unhinged military man who orders a bombing attack on the Soviet Union even though those in the war room question his sanity. It is, quite simply, one of the great movies of all time. In fact, famed movie critic Roger Ebert has stated on multiple occasions that he believes it sits alongside “2001: A Space Odyssey” as Kubrick’s masterpiece. High praise indeed and well-deserved. Experience “Dr. Strangelove” on the big screen and see for yourself!  Per usual, we at The Electric Film Series aren’t just about the movies themselves. We’re also all about film history and context and as such, with each of these screenings we have a very special guest on hand to introduce the title of the evening and to lead a post-screening discussion. Our special guest for this particular screening is TBA so keep an eye out for updates.    Be sure to arrive at our “Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb” screening a little early and order an optional menu item from Riggatti’s to enjoy during the post-screening discussion or, you can feel free to take the pizza home with you following the movie.

We hope to see you all there!
