Join us for a screening of "Bad Day at Black Rock," a gripping tale in which a stranger arrives in a seemingly quiet desert town, and quickly discovers that something is deeply wrong. Featuring a commanding performance by Spencer Tracy, the film unfolds with mounting tension as buried secrets come to light. Bold in its themes and restrained in its execution, Bad Day at Black Rock remains a striking example of how classic cinema confronted difficult truths with precision and power.

Enhancing the evening will be special guest speaker, Bob Bassett, on hand to introduce the film and to lead a post-screening discussion. Mr. Bassett--founding Dean of Dodge College Film and Media Arts at Chapman University--will share insight into the film’s historical context, thematic depth, and lasting influence on American cinema.

Be sure to arrive early and enjoy an optional menu item from Riggatti’s to savor during the post-screening discussion, or take it home with you after the film.
