2022 Filmmaker Swap Meet + Free Public Screening of "Lost in La Mancha"

The 2022 Filmmaker Swap Meet/Networking + FREE Screening of "Lost in La Mancha" are presented by FMASU.

With 2022 coming to end, we’re closing out the year with a filmmaker-focused event. Filmmakers are encouraged to bring any gear they might be looking to trade or unload. Or, feel free to simply come out and mingle with other local filmmakers.

Plus a special 20th-anniversary screening of “Lost in La Mancha.” This screening is FREE and we want to encourage everyone to attend, particularly filmmakers!

This heartbreaking, intriguing, and eye-opening documentary follows gifted director Terry Gilliam (“Time Bandits,” “Brazil,” “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen,” “The Fisher King,” “12 Monkeys”) as he sets out on a years-long crusade to bring his passion project, a seemingly doomed adaptation of “Who Killed Don Quixote,” to the big screen. “Lost in La Mancha” directors Keith Fulton and Louis Pepe do a stellar job letting the cursed stylings of this often tragic story speak for themselves and while there’s certainly a soul-crushing cautionary tale at the heart of this movie–You're likely to walk away from “Lost in La Mancha” wondering how any movie ever gets completed–there’s also something undeniably inspirational about the perseverance and unwavering spirit on display. Making movies is hard to be sure and very few movies have ever gotten that point across quite like this one.

For those of you who’ve seen “Lost in La Mancha,” it’s absolutely worthy of revisiting for its 20th anniversary. For those of you who haven’t seen it, now is the perfect opportunity.

Again, this screening is FREE and will take place on Friday, December 30th at 7 PM at The Electric Theater. Again, it’s the perfect movie for filmmakers but it’s also a quintessential movie lover’s movie. Come and see for yourself!
