12 ANGRY MEN (1957) | FREE Electric Film Series Screening

The Electric Film Series returns to the Electric Theater on Tuesday, May 21st at 6 PM (Doors at 5:30 PM) with a screening of a true masterwork from the 50s; “12 Angry Men” (1957)

From the great Sidney Lumet comes this powerful drama that delves into a New York murder trial. What initially looks to be an open and shut case is anything but as a single jury member challenges his fellow jury members to carefully take a harder look at the trial. “12 Angry Men” boasts a stellar ensemble including the likes of Henry Fonda, Lee J. Cobb, E.G. Marshall, Jack Warden, and Jack Klugman, just to name a precious few. This is a thought-provoking film that AV Club’s Noel Murray suggests “is a study of how ordinary men take their jury duty as an opportunity to vent about the injustice they see around them every day.” This is a film that is sure to keep you talking long after the end credits have rolled.   Per usual, we at The Electric Film Series aren’t just about the movies themselves. We’re also all about film history and context and as such, with each of these screenings we have a very special guest on hand to introduce the title of the evening and to lead a post-screening discussion.
