JANELL BASSETT

BIO-- A writer and magazine editor, Janell Bassett was Bob’s partner on this journey. Hired to teach public relations and advertising, she became Chapman’s Director of Public Relations and led the marketing and communications efforts for the developing film program from day one. As the film school grew, she became chair of the Media Arts Division, responsible for programs in documentary filmmaking, television production, animation and visual effects, PR and advertising, and broadcast journalism. The Bassetts attended film festivals from Sundance to Cannes, saw the creation of a partner program in Singapore, and visited film schools from Finland to Australia, from China to Chile. Following their retirement to Utah, they continue to enjoy hearing from alumni and watching their careers develop.
