In honor of Halloween, FMASU’s Electric Film Series returns to The Electric Theater on Tuesday, October 21st with a FREE 10th-Anniversary screening of an underappreciated horror/comedy from the mid-2010s;

It’s not every day that you find the words “adorable,” “slasher film,” and “rated PG-13” in the same sentence but then, the underrated 2015 slasher homage, “The Final Girls,” certainly marches to the beat of its own drum. In this creative offering from director Todd Strauss-Schulson, a grieving teenager (wonderfully played by Tessa Farmiga) finds herself getting a second chance when a fantastical phenomenon (a phenomenon that in another universe might have led to calling this movie “The Last Slasher Hero”) allows her the opportunity to team with her now deceased mother (a slasher film scream queen of the 80s played by an equally wonderful Malin Akerman) in an effort to do battle with a quintessential slasher…
